Preview:
(Marco, Jimmy, and Spinner are all at Jimmys house. About midday)
Jimmy: Yeah, I hope that we get a new girl that is totally cute at Degrassi. Everyone there is old or totally UGLY!
(Everyone laughs)
Spinner: Yeah, the best thing there now is Ellie, and I cant get her to notice me the way I want her too. Any ideas, Marco, since you guys are still together? Can I take your woman?
Marco: Real funny, Spin. I dont think so, Ellie is mine 4-Life!
Spinner: Pretty soon, she wont be.
Marco: Oh yeah, you want to do something about it?
Spinner: Yeah, lets throw down, right here, right now!
Marco: (Laughing) Youre funny! I was just kidding!
Spinner: I wasnt! Lets get this over with now! I want Ellie bad!
Jimmy: Come on, guys, lets stop. I just heard the doorbell! Go get the door, Spin!
Spinner: Why dont you go get it? Its your house!
Jimmy: God, Spin! Youre so lazy!
(Jimmy answers the door. The new next-door neighbor, Rachel, is at Jimmys doorstep. Spinner and Jimmys eyes light up with happiness.)
Rachel: Can I come in?
(Queue music and introduction scenes)
(Back to the show now)
Rachel: Hi, I am new here! I just moved here from Halifax, Nova Scotia! I wanted to meet my neighbors! What is your name?
(Pushing Jimmy out of the way)
Spinner: Hi, my name is Spinner, but you can call me Romeo!
(Marco snickers and Jimmy scoffs)
Rachel: Hi, Spinner, but I was talking to him.
(Pointing at Jimmy)
Spinner: Oh, thats Jimmy. Hes boring.
(Jimmy punches Spinner on his arm)
Jimmy: Shut up, Spin! Hi, my name is Jimmy. Its my pleasure to meet you!
Rachel: Jimmy, huh? Cool name! Umm who is that guy over there?
(She smiles at Marco)
Spinner: Oh, you cant have him, hes taken!
Jimmy and Marco: Spin! Shut up!
Spinner: Sorry man!
Rachel: Can I come in?
Jimmy: Oh yeah, sorry! I dont think my parents would mind!
(Jimmy escorts her to the chair next to him)
Rachel: So, I still didnt catch your name.
(Rachel is looking dead at Marco)
Marco: Oh, I am sorry. My name is Marco.
(Marco shakes Rachels hand)
Spinner: (Whispering to Marco): Youre so lame! You should have tried to make out with her or something!
Marco: (Whispering back): You know, you get on my nerves!
Rachel: So how old are you guys?
Marco, Spinner, and Jimmy: 16
Rachel: Oh, me too! 10th grade?
Marco, Spinner, and Jimmy: Yeah!
Rachel: So will one of you guys help me on the first day?
Spinner and Jimmy: Sure!
(Marco gets a depressed look on his face. Rachel notices it and starts to wonder about him.)
Rachel: Well, I better be going! We still have a lot of stuff to unpack.
Spinner: Let me escort you to the door, my lady!
Rachel: Thanks, but I think I can escort myself to the door.
(Marco and Jimmy get a smile across their face, and try to keep themselves from laughing)
Spinner: Oh, ok. Thats fine! I just wanted to since that door is kind of tricky to get out of!
Rachel: I think I can handle myself, Spinner.
Spinner: Whatever, dude!
(Rachel leaves to go home)
Jimmy: Dude, shes hot!
Spinner: Yeah, really!
Marco: (Coming back from his daydream) Oh, yeah, I guess she is a little cute.
Spinner and Jimmy: A LITTLE?
Jimmy: Dude, she is not a LITTLE cute! She is TOTALLY CUTE!
Marco: Whatever I have to go. My pager just went off. Its my dad. He put in the code that means come home.
Jimmy: Ok, see you later Marco.
Marco: You mean in that dreaded place we call school!
Jimmy: Yeah, I guess
Spinner: Well, I dont have to leave yet! Lets call someone, Jim!
Jimmy: Like who?
Marco: (walking out the door): It better not be Ellie!
Spinner: (yelling): What do you care?
Marco: (on the doorstep): Hes right? What
Marco: (on the doorstep): Hes right? What do I care?
Spinner: I really have to go, but I had to discuss something with you.
Jimmy: Oh, big word! Discuss! (Claps) Go, Spin!
Spinner: Shut up, Jim!
(Jimmy laughs)
Spinner: You know, I was thinking this summer!
Jimmy: Wow, another big shock!
Spinner: You know, I am going to grow up to be smarter than you and what you would ever think of me!
Jimmy: Yeah right, but go ahead with what you were saying.
Spinner: I have been wondering about Marco. He has been acting different since the time I called him gay.
Jimmy: Well, I would definitely be mad if you called me gay!
Spinner: But, I am not sure if my accusation was right. I saw Marco with a guy this summer!
Jimmy: Are you serious?
Spinner: Yeah, they were at the movies!
Jimmy: Are you sure it wasnt his cousin or someone?
Spinner: Would Marco make out with his cousin?
Jimmy: No, I dont think so. I would have never expected it! Especially from him! Hes going out with Ellie!
Spinner: Do you think it is a show, or is it the real thing?
Jimmy: I dont know.
Spinner: Have you noticed that they only are together when we force them to be? And that they only do what we say because they dont want to seem different? I mean, he normally isnt around Ellie, unless they are just talking about who knows what! Probably about hot guys! He only makes out with her when we are around and we make fun of him and call him Marcia or something?
Jimmy: You know, you are right I just never would have expected it from Marco.
Spinner: Yeah, I know what you mean! He has so much going for him!
Jimmy: Yeah, I guess youre right
Spinner: Well, I have to go now! Really, or I will be toast when I get home!
Jimmy: Yeah, go ahead! Get out of here!
Spinner: Whatever, dude! See you tomorrow in .
Jimmy: Yeah, I know Spin! Now, get home!
(Spinner leaves out the door. Jimmy turns on the TV and starts to wonder to himself.)
This is the end of Act One.
Act Two
(Sean, Emma, Manny, JT, Toby, and Kendra are all at the mall.)
Sean: God, I wanna go home now! We have been walking around this mall all day! I have been carrying your stuff for the longest Emma!
Emma: Sorry, I will carry my own stuff then!
Sean: Its OK. Im just cranky! We have school tomorrow!
Manny: Yeah, we do, dont we?
JT: Yeah, stinks, doesnt it?
Toby: Not really
JT: Youre a geek! We expect to hear that from you!
Kendra: Keep your comments to yourself, JT or else I will get Spinner to attack you!
(Toby laughs)
JT: Ok, Ill stop.
Manny: You know, I wish I could find a decent guy that went to our school.
(Manny looks at the ceiling and bumps into another guy accidentally. They knock each others stuff out of their hands.)
Manny: Oh my gosh, I am so sorry.
Mike: Its ok, dont worry!
(They stare into each others eyes.)
Mike: (stunned): My name is Mike. Whats your name?
Manny: Manny. Nice to meet you!
(Manny sticks her hand out for a handshake and he shakes her hand.)
Mike: Well, I hope we run into each other again.
Manny: Sure, we will!
JT: Wow, hes tall!
Toby: Really tall!
Sean: You guys stop rambling on about him! Are you in love with that guy or something?
JT: What a dumb question to ask! I have a lover!
Sean: Who? Your mom?
(Emma laughs)
JT: No, psychopath! Paige Michalchuk!
(Everyone groans)
Kendra: JT, when will you get over her, she doesnt like you!
JT: Yes, huh! She kissed me!
Emma: It was pity, you would never get another kiss from anyone else, she wanted to make you feel special!
Sean: Yeah, right! He would get another kiss! From his mom!
(Everyone laughs!)
JT: You are so not funny!
Kendra: Yes he is! You just cant admit it!
Toby: You know, you could get a kiss! From Liberty, she would love to lay one on you!
JT: Ok, that is totally not cool!
Sean: Lets get out of hToby: You know, you could get a kiss! From Liberty, she would love to lay one on you!

Sean: Lets get out of here! I do not want to have to carry anything else Emma buys!
Emma: Whatever, Sean. You know, why dont we get out of here! Im getting tired, I need a nap.
Manny: Yeah, I wonder, when will I see Mike again?
Emma: Are you crushing on Mike or something?
Manny: Yeah, hes hot!
Emma: Lets get out of here, now! I am totally sick of this place!
Sean: More better for me! Lets get out of here!
Toby: You guys go ahead! I have to go to the bathroom.
Kendra: Ill come with you.
Toby: You cant go into the bathroom! Its a guys bathroom! Guys can only come into it and guys can only come out!
Kendra: Youre kind of slow Toby! Or else you dont get out a lot to go to the mall! Even I know that the bathrooms here are co-ed! So I can come! It is not like I am going to watch you!
Toby: I would hope not!
JT: Are we gonna stand here, or are we gonna leave?
Manny: Lets leave!
Sean: Ok, we will see you guys later!
Toby: Ok, see you guys later!
(The group disperses.)
